Air Filter Question

I bought a New Air Filter For the KDX. In my online manual it says that I should not use Gauze Air Filter Oil. I Bought K&N
Air Filter Oil and when I got home the back of the can says that it is gauze oil, the parts store says that is the only kind of air filter oil they have. Just wondering what everyone else is using.

Yamaha filter oil on a unifilter foam, never had dirt get through. K&N filters too hard too clean for me but when I do have to, I clean from the inside out with water soluble degreaser rinsed with warm water repeated until clean. K&N oil for K&N filter that way you don't have to worry about the bonding agents breaking down.If its a foam filter and you haven't got immediate access to foam filter oil gear oil is OK because its usually sticky which traps the dirt on the outside of the foam like filter oil.
