i was told to look on this board to find information on what air to fuel ratio i should shoot for with my yz250. i just purchased a lm1 airfuel ratio meter but dont know what ratio to shoot for, for a full blow mx bike im looking for the most power while still not going to lean. can any one help me out or tell me were to look?

well stoich is 14.7 and rich said 13.25-13.75 is where you want to be but you dont need a wideband just work on your jetting skills. have eric port your cylinder and deck the head.try some U2 man that would be a wild 250. the only advice I have for you if you do this is eat your spinich and hold on.

the real reason i purchased this is to not so much get my jetting perfect but more or less to know when im too lean. i just had a problem were my bike blew up from detetiation that was caused by being lean, can any one tell me a lean mixture would read?

12:1 is rich and 14:1 is lean. If you had an EGT probe you would see a higher temp with the leaner ratio until it got to lean then it would get cool again because it wouldn't be making power.

The larger number represents parts of air to the smaller numbers parts of fuel. Looking at it this way should help you understand why 14:1 is leaner than 12:1.
