hey guys i already posted the smoky thread but decided to make a new thread anyways I have an 1986 kwasaki KD 80 and a guy i was talking to wants to trade his 1995 cr 80 with an 1983 engine in it.

anything i should look for on his bike that would be a deal ender, i have not seen it yet but it supposedly "needs the brakes bled and the new carb installed"

sounds like an awesome deal to me if the bike will run good because this is exactly what i was looking for.

i like quiet will messing with the muffler hurt the cr 80 beyond performance i made a stealth insert for my kd80 out of a mower muffler that works good

hey guys i just got the cr80 an hour ago its a got an aircooled engine in it might be a 125 and its a 1999 frame with an aluminum swingarm and renthal bars, i need to mess with the carb can someone tell me quickly how to take the seat off so i can get started i have never had a newer honda before

I'll go out on a limb and say take off the bolt on each side of the seat and pull it off.

That's a fragile limb you're stepping out on. lol. If you're having a problem taking off the seat then I'd maybe have a friend with a little mechanical experience, maybe familiar with dirt bikes, come over and give you a hand. You might get in a bit over your experience level and end up with a fubar moment, but the good thing is that if you see it once on a dirt bike you will forever be able to figure it out from there. They're pretty simple, but a little experience always helps...

okay guys i found out how i didnt know it had to be unsrewed i tought it could be taken off with out tools like a lever or hinge type thing but now im having carb issues it wont start up... it is a franken bike incase you didnt know it has a 1980 sumthin engine that is either a cr125 or an cr80 and the rest of the bike is 1999 so should i start a new thread?
- if it is a cr80 would it run at all with an cr125 carb and vice versa
UPDATE:okay it is an 80cc engine i found the markings

Cr80-125

the motors are two entirely different sizes if you hadnt realized that already, and the same goes for the carbs. The cr carb is probably about 28mm for a 05'. the 125 motor runs a stock 38mm carb. THATS A HUGE DIFFERENCE. if its all stock, then the dimensions should be real close to these, even though its several years old. Good luck

well it came with two carbs one that isnt complete but is huge and a small complete one that is regular 80 size i guess
