I haven't watched the race on TV yet, so I don't know how well you can see it, but LaRocco didn't seem too concerend about the bumping rule. He took one last run at Reed in one of the final corners that almost took Reed out! There was some pretty good contact.
Watching live, I think the race was Awsome! Racing that close, I feel that someone would have been taken out, possibly on "accident", much earlier in the race. The show would have been over, somebody would have walked away with the win. Instead, they had to find new lines and invent new ways of passing, which they did.
IMHO, I think this is a great move for Supercross. Will it change it? Yes, maybe we can see two guys battle it out for 20 laps, instead of 8 laps when an aggressive pass or block move "accidently" puts another on the ground or off the track. I've been looking forward to a season where they don't crown the winner 3 rounds early, and I think this may level the field a little. The important thing is that they find a balance so that rider aren't affraid to pass. As some stated in earlier messages, looked like there was quite a bit of passing going on in this race!
Just my thoughts... but what the hell do I know, I'm a desert rider.
