another newbie in Michigan

Hey guys/gals.
My name is Paul. I live in Michigan and have just got into riding dirt bikes. Purchased a 98' YZ 250 in October and have been having a ball ever since. I am just trying to learn the fundimentals right now but my riding is progressing with every outing.

I have been riding street bikes since 1999 and have been road racing them since 2001. It had always been something that I wanted to do and I have achieved that goal. I am by no means super fast but I can hold my own. All my racing has been done at Gratten Raceway located just N.E. of Grand Rapids Michigan.

I have been interested in dirt bikes as long as I can remember but my family is totally against anything with a motor. Now that I am old enough I felt that it was time to give it a try. I wish that I would have done this a long time ago. I have been doing mainly trail riding locally. Unfortunately it is winter time so riding will have to waite until the weather gets better or we hit another warm spell.

Maybe I'll see you on the trail some time.

Be sure and go to your User CP and update information relating to your location, type of riding, etc. After that grab a spot on the couch and tell us a bit about yourself. How long you have been riding, what kind of riding you prefer, where you are located, etc. We will do our best to hook you up with some fellow dirt bike enthusiasts.

Check out the Michigan Trail Riders forum for some folks in your area. These guys have written the book on how to make a local area forum wiork. There are guys in there that never come out into the main site!

all the snow is gone here. nothing but mud. might hop on her for a little tomorrow before I have to go to work.. An hour on the bike is better than nothing...

can anyone help? i am looking to rebuild the front forks of a 1995 rm250 i need a new front damper cylinder. suzuki has discontinued this part. any ideas
