I found this site by accident, just noticed a link at the bottom of the SERA webpage one day, prolly been there a dozen times but never noticed it 'til August of this year and now I'm totally addicted. I would have joined the support team earlier, but got into a penny pinching situation myself when the rig count in the gulf declined and I had sit for a few weeks without working. I was thankful for DRN because I spent alot of time on here. I don't really post alot, but for the most part I am away from a computer or civilization for two weeks at a time. But, this site has become important to me for the information, friendship and at that time a release when I almost couldn't even afford to ride I could come here. As soon as work picked back up for us and I could I joind the support team mainly to help do my part to help make sure this stays going so I have a home on the internet.

Thanks Okie and all the moderators for all you do!

I was thinking about this the other day

do you think it's evident enough that there is a membership opportunity? (You know how many people never read the "signs") I mean maybe there are folks out there that would "donate" to the cause if they knew it. Is there a better way to "market" the membership? Like when a new member signs up is there a welcome message or something that is e-mailed to them describing the sponsership member benifit? Just wondering...if it wasn't for this site I would have never rode my new bike 30% as much as I did last summer because I found people to ride with here. That convinced me to chip in gladly! I love you guys, man.

Man.
.6% is way lower than I would have guessed. Don't you think that thousands of people have made decisions on product / bike selection based on info from this site? Even if you were only moderately into bikes, this site would influence buying habits enough to pay for a membership within a year or two.
Loosers; kill em all.... ok maybe just be disappointed by the cheapness

Okie, If you ever needed a fund raiser to help support DRN I would gladly chip in! I wouldn't want to see it disapear.

I actually did count up the support team members today before this thread was started. I was amazed at how few there were, and then wondered how people thought this place was a money maker. Then that got me to thinking how much I am really on here a day, and what would I do with my spare time if Okie couldn't afford to keep this place running, or lost interest in it.:ugg: I work second shift, so there isn't much to do after work, so I am on here every night for two to three hours mostly reading and laughing. I don't post much, so I feel kinda long winded, but thanks for everybody for keeping this place going.:D

HA! The funny/scary part is, I lurked for about six months before I joined and then I didn't even break 100 posts until sometime after I joined the support team around March of last year.

Trust me, I know how money can be tight enough that a membership is out of the question. I recently paid my truck off and am just now catching back up from that! But, the way I see it, I ate at least $109 in free pork chops from the Heartland Spodes Saturday night at DW! Plus snagged a couple of them fancy beers from JP!:D

Not to mention that I won the Emig Racing $100 gift cert., free air filter in oldguy's scavenger hunt, free gear for joining, free American Flag backgrounds, free help aiming my satellite dish, surprise Christmas present from a Kentucky elf, the list goes on and on and on.

If this place ever did cease to exist as we know it, and I hope that day never comes, you can guaranty that someone will pick up right where this would leave off and quick, too. Either that or there would be one very large support group for us addicts!

All the support team members are not listed, that's a maintainence issue Okie hasn't gotten arount to yet, for example my name is not listed on there and any of the newer members have not been posted yet. It might not be quite as bad as .6%, but probably not a heck of a lot better. Okie has been busy!!

I have been out of town for the last week, and I logged on today and there is a whole new section. It's only getting better.

Thanks

Just wait till DW02. The HL Spodes will blow EVERYONE away. No not on the track, remember bswift and I aren't that fast. I'm refering to food. We've been thinking. Thats assuming it's in our backyard. I know that is a big if right now.

The other day, I asked "Coach in ND" if ever thought about being a sponsoring member. His reply, "I have not even thought about it" was his answer. He has been observer for over a year!!!

Member he will become a member??????

I just don't think people put much thought into it. Unless we "invite" people to become members.

The percentage . . .

. . . is up. Since Okie updated the member page, there are 137 members (that's 1.3% of total membership).

Even more exciting is that we've gone up 10 members in the last 5 days (I'm from within the last week)--that's 2 members a day! Now, by my mathemagical calculamacations, if no one else joins DRN, everyone will be a support team member in 16 years, 3 months, 21 days, 5 hours, 21 minutes, and about a second and a half. ;)

Single Digits in the post Column.

I'm probably one of the single digit posters. I rarley if ever have anything usefull to post. (don't spell well either) Sorry about that. I do however enjoy reading what most of you have to say. I am happy to pay the nominal support membership fee to help keep DRN alive.

My Six-tenths of one percent. Hap

Man, I miss all the good threads.:silly:

I'm proud to be a Support Team member. As soon as I get a little more cash, I will be a lifer. I tell basically everyone I know that is associated with bikes about DRN. I proudly wear the DRN gear and the bike is very proud to wear the fender sticker. I just bought a 426, and it didn't look right without the DRN fender stickers. Keep up the good work Okie and others!:)

How will I know when it is time to renew my membership?
(This time I'll go for the lifer membership.)

I'm kind of ashamed-I lurked, then posted, then got a little more active, but just recently joined. It took me a year-but I do recommend the site to everyone I know in the dirtbikin' world, honest injun'.

Okie, you really do an awesome job with everything. Thanks! Now if I could just get my DRN stickers before Dirtweek 02  Just kidding of course.:)

Oh btw, your membership automatically re-news yearly if you paid by Paypal.
