Anyone up for a ride this Friday or Saturday? (Saturday it is...)

With a HIGH of 74 Friday in Muenster, anyone up for a Friday ride? Weather will be slightly warmer Saturday, but still very nice.

Hmm. Sounds tempting, but I'm looking for more of a day trip and Gilmer is a bit of a drive for that. I'll have to plan ahead more for that.

where on earth is Muenster, ???????/
Go straight up I-35, exit onto 82 West in Gainsville and go West about 15 miles. The riding area (Red River) is about 15 minutes north of Muenster (close to Bulcher).

Yep...turn right at the red light in Muenster and follow the road until you're sure you've missed it and are lost...then suddenly, you'll be there.....

I'm game for Saturday...as long as the rain stays away....

:ride: :ride: :ride: :)

What do you mean Friday OR Saturday? Actually, I might be up for a ride either day, or both. I'll just have to see how work goes this week.

Well, I don't think I've built up enough kitchen pass points w/the wifey for both days :blah:

Looks like Saturday morning it is :)

I should be there Saturday morning as well. I usually go through the second gate, down the rocked road to the meadow on the right, and under one of the big trees. I have a white high-top conversion van and a black open trailer. Hope to see you there.

You should put up a big sign that says "Hey Joe, over here". :rotfl:

Jason and I haven't finalized plans yet, but we usually meet at 8:00 in Ft Worth and arrive by 9:30 or so...

There's another KTMtalk guy that might be coming out, so I'll just need to let him know where we plan on parking if he decides to come up there. It would be cool to all park together. Normally, I prefer the "pit" by the creek for shade, but its going to be fairly cool out so I'm up for a change of scenery.

There's a lot of deep shade under the big trees in the meadow, second gate-wise. Look for my big white van. I'll wear a red carnation, but it might be dusty. I rode there today with AlanG from KTM Talk, and it was nice. Very, very dry, but pretty cool. It hit about 78 degrees by 3 p.m., when we left.

I'm beginning to think the meadow will be a better spot w/the slight chance of rain too. No 4wd (yet) to pull myself out with.

Scott and I decided to postpone this morning's ride. Looks like they got quite a bit of rain this morning.

We'll probably try to head up there tomorrow morning instead (Sunday).

Yeppers...Sunday was the riding day due to the overnight storms Friday night and into Saturday morning...had to let it dry out a little. We did stop by the big tree looking for a big white man in a white van...stopped and chatted with 3 guys beating on a toolbox.... :coocoo:
