AP Back Guard

Coming back after a badly broken femur in Sept. last year, I'm even more aware of the need for protection.
I'm planning to purchase an 'AP Back Guard' from SportsProtection. I've read the review of the standard guard in the 'DRN Tested' area(very nice write-up Dave), but am wondering if anyone has experience with the 'AP Backguard Pro' product? This one seems to have aluminum as the reinforment material instead of plastic, which would seem to be less likely to 'give' in an impact.

I was also wondering how hot this is to wear. The AP Back Guard looks like it might get pretty uncomfortable in hot weather. The Pro seems to have some ventilation. Any feedback?
