Tuesday, 9:01 a.m.
Doot-doot-dit-dit-doot-dit-deet.......ring, ring..
<Local cycle shop guy> "Hello"
<me> "Hi, local shop guy"
<LCSG> "Hey, BSWIFT what's up?"
<me> "Not much, I need a 13/50 combo of sprockets and Xring chain for the Mamba. Can you have them by Friday?"
<LCSG> "Let me call you back."
Tuesday, 10:00 a.m. .....ring, ring..
<me> "Hello?"
<LCSG> "Parts house has your stuff in stock and I will have them Friday by noon."
<me> "Great, see ya Friday, Thanks"
Friday, 2:00 p.m.
Parts arrived, 13T sprocket for a xr 100, and a 44T sprocket for a 91 KX 250. Xring chain BACK ORDERED! ARRRRGH!!!
It's not my local guys fault, he checked the numbers the supplier shipped the wrong stuff. They told them they had everything is stock and they misspoke. Now I've got to scramble to OKC, Saturday morning and get what I need because the Tulsa Dealerships don't have the stuff in stock. I'm bummed. At least they have them in OKC. Hope I have time to put them on tomorrow.

I hear ya buddy. Nothing is worse than that. NOTHING. And it's not because people make honest mistakes. It's because they're busy jabbering, taking breaks, spreading rumors, and watching the clock. SAD. :|

Dats why you need AJ or Jeff working for ya. I'd like to support my local guy as well, but;
a) Banzai Motorsports, Libertyville, IL. ARE YOU KIDDING? A total joke. New owner (3 in 3 years) somehow "lost" my racer's discount. Buh-Bye.

b) Great Escape Kawi/Suzi . Bob is a good guy, does pretty good deals on bikes (bought two from him) Tom (the shop mechanic) is great but... charges MSRP for parts, no exceptions! Buh-Bye.

c) Other local shops. "Jerry The Greek" may have invaded them (local joke), no way am I dealing with him.. the ultimate mc shop whore. I do feel good that I hosed HIM on the 99 KX (which later became the infamous "Mamba", won in a DRN raffle by BSWIFT... for $25!!!!)

So here I am with no local shop to support. No problem. AJ (Service Honda) is a great friend of mine (And one of my MX Heros) and (he's a good friend to a LOT of people, funny how that works) and takes great care of me. Called me customer of the month once last year, lol. Funny thing is, he takes great care of everyone, rather you know him or not. And I was feeling special. Service has supported DirtWeek and DRN from the very beginning... reason enough to give them a shot at your business.

Jeff (MX South) is another friend, that always comes thru for his customers. He absolutly ROCKED DirtWeek last year.. nearly $5,000 worth of stuff to give away! Please! Support this guy, he values DRN members and puts his support $ where his mouth is.

So yea, I'd like to support the local guy, but there are those out there that keep this place going. That alone justifies giving some back. They do.

No problem bswift. We can spare fifteen minutes to stop at AJAX. I do have the old chain off of the KX if you are in dire straits(not sure of the length) I still need oil and a bolt. The Durango is pretty full, I think I over packed. I'll transfer some of it(gas can, ice chest,Etc) to the trailer.

They all fit just fine, except there was an incident with a "GasGas". Luckily my YZF came out unscathed :) BTW-This is still Lou here.

Smackover said the rear fender will be in sometime next week. In the meantime, me and Swift fixed her up real good with some duct tape and hot glue. :)

you may end up dumping the bike gas in the Durango before it's over, hauling all of that

Banzai racing in Libertyville, IL...bought a couple of bikes from them, many times they have "barely used" bikes at low prices... I thought their prices were good on bikes, but they are just too big to give good personal service! They sell so many bikes, it's like a constant stream of people walking in and people rolling out new bikes. They lied to me about the last bike I bout there, and I don't plan on going back...still have the t-shirt tho :silly:

All of your dealers are so good. My local dealer literally has NO parts for my bike in stock. Nothing for a top end. No bolts. No gaskets...no tires (they do have tubes)...

Ditto!
Just bought a complete set of plastic for my one of my boy's CR500 from MX South even though my other son works at a local shop.
