I finally have all the parts and the time to put my KX top end back together. I have done a top end before, but considering the money I have invested this time I was wondering if anyone has any good tips or tricks for throwing it all together. Last time, I didn't use any copper coat on the gaskets and ended up with a head and base gasket leak. Also, I figured out that the head and base nut torque values were incorrect in the Kawi Service manual (something like too loose on the head and too tight on the base). Anyone know the correct values? I can't remember.

Thanks!

18ft-lb for the head and 25ft-lb for the cylinder. You are using after market gaskets for that 310 right. The reason i ask is if you use a oem head gasket on a 310 it will cause a hot spot, because of the gasket pretruding into the cylinder.I have a stock cylinder size on my 00 kx 250 i use oem gasket's .The head has a sticky film on it to help it seal. The base is metal also and i never had a problem with a leak. What are you using, cometics?
