There was an interesting article in this month's Great Lakes Trailrider (the monthly newsletter from Michigan Cycle Conservation Club). The author described putting a drill auger, or bulb planting auger, inside your exhaust to lower the decibels 5-6 points without affecting power. Having purchased White Brothers' Vortip exhaust tips for an XR250 and WR400, I see something similar in each of them. Has anyone had experience doing this type of modification? I would sure be an easy way to get the noise down on some of these four stroke pipes!
