The former looks beastly; perhaps makes more noise & traps dirt, but may hold up better than DeVol's? Which one is the choice for U rock guys?

I know I know: a Gnarly pipe should B fine, but I manage to dent that one too :(

I second the E-line comment. I have the Gnarly pipe and have smashed it in on the 4th ride. Even the Gnarly can still be crushed easily. I had mine repaired. I didn't have the E-line guard, but wished I did. My brother has them (E-line Carbon Fiber) on his KTMs, and they take a TON of abuse and still protect the pipe.
