BAT BOY REFUSED ENTRY BY LORETTA LYNN--NOV 28
In an ironic turn of events, Bat Boy was refused entry to this country’s most famous Motocross youth competition. Bat Boy, the half-human, half alien child who was discovered by Scientists in a cave in West Virginia, has grown up to be quite an adventuresome freak. Reportedly, he sent an early request to race the youth, 12- to 15-year-old 125cc class of the ’02 running of the Loretta Lynn Classic.
"We don’t encourage sandbaggers here." Said an official who declined to be named in this text, "Bat boy, or whoever he claims to be, has been in and out of the local news down here in Tennessee for at least twenty years. Just because some guy is hairless, that don’t make him 12 years old!" Loretta’s is about kids coming from all over the country to race Motocross and have fun. What would all those moms and dads say if we let some 21-year old freak on a Suzuki 125 of nature roost all those youngsters? That scares me more than seeing his picture in the paper."
MXJ’s detective at large, Ralph LaLessmun, drove from Louisiana to cover the story. Ralph was unable to contact Bat boy or his "Scientist" managers for comment. After three fruitless days and 1200 miles of searching, he penned these words to MXJ: "The only Bat Boy I saw was a few pictures plastered in the tabloids. I say, if he really is past 21, let him race with the vets at Glen Helen next year. Don’t they have an old timers class for 125cc pros over 18?"
