'Berg FX 470E Vs. KTM 400 MXC

Anybody ridden a 'Berg FX 470E back to back with a KTM 400 MXC?

My buddy has a 2002 FX 470E coming and I would like to know how it will compare to my MXC.

Guy Perrett, local hotshot, seen in several Terrafirma videos, sells the KTM line. He went to the Dirt Rider 24hr test and rode all of the big brands, he came home beaming about the 'Berg 470 and when my buddy was buying his new 400SX, he tried to steer him towards the 'berg.. It sure sounds like a great bike from what I've been hearing.

The 400 is de-tuned to differentiate it from the 520. I very strongly assume the 470 is not de-tuned to differentiate it from anything :) The 470 probably is better compared to the 520.

Anyhow, I still wouldn't get a 'berg unless I had a very good working relationship with the dealer. My dad had one, crank gone in less than 30 hours. I've also heard (first-hand from the owner) about several problems with relatively new Husabergs. They are again supposed to be better from -01 up, but it will take some convincing before I get one.

:think: Why dont we wait a few months and compare the 470 to the 450 that KTM will be coming out with ? There is alot of power sleeping in that 400 motor! :aj:

There IS alot more power in the 400 compared to stock tuning.

knobbie you are correct sir! put an EE450 big bore kit with a Lafferty Big Bore pipe on my '02 400 MXC, completely different bike, if you haven't done it to your 400 what are you waiting for, unless you are waiting for '03!

I could ride Sunday,...cept I'd have to cut out early,(around 3pm) got some stupid reunion to go to. :|...... Puts a damper on the 'After ride festivities'.
