I was adjusting the clutch on my '96 kdx 200, and being the dumb a-- that I am, I tightened the adjusting nuts too tight and broke the cast aluminum piece off that holds the clutch cable to the body. Any suggestions on how to remedy this would be greatly appreciated!

Can it be welded????? Or maybe fabricate a new mount that can be bolted somewhere close to the broken mount... Just a thought

1) Remove the right side cover and take it and the broken piece to someone who can weld aluminium.

or

2) Call Fredette and see if he has any used side covers for sale.

Welding aluminum pieces of that sort (thin, cast) will generally warp them. If it's welded, make sure it's resurfaced so it's flat, else it will leak.

Seemingly unrelated..but when you remove your front tire, keep in mind those studs break easily when tightened with.....uh...zeal.

Just one more 'sensitive' part....... :ugg:
