GETOMETOCA, thank you for organizing a wonderful day with great ride, gourmet food, and nice party. We had such a great time!

About 5 weeks ago Buddy and I got an invitation from Natalie for Memorial Day BBQ and Pool Party at her home. She was also planning a ride nearby riding area prior to the party.

So yesterday morning at 9:30, 13 people showed up in the staging area. With Justin￾fs lead 12 people started riding. We rode some awesome trails in woods. The weather was beautiful. Pretty wild flowers were blooming everywhere. There were 6 female riders out of 12, GETOMETOCA, Karna, Jennifer, Kali, Gina, and me. And most of us got our new bikes recently, so we were very excited about the ride. Oh, and I have to mention that Natalie improved her trail speed. She is now a totally different rider from the time I met her a year ago.

We finished riding around 3:30 pm, packed up and headed to Natalie's house. More people came for the party, so there were about 20 people there. While Natalie was cooking her famous gourmet food, some people jumped in the pool, some were thrown into the pool, and some watched the show. We all had a great time. The food Natalie made was delicious! :thumb: She is certainly a great cook. She even made a birthday cake for Buddy that had a KTM on top of it.

Natalie, thank you, and we love you!!! ;)

It sounds like you guys had a great time! I'm sorry I missed it. We went to the Thumper Talk ride this weekend at Foresthill, and by the time we got home we were exhausted. We made the big mistake of laying down for just a quick nap . . . three hours later we woke up and it was almost 7:00 already! I'm bummed that I missed the great party, but I'm looking forward to meeting most of you at the Oregon Ride School.

Sounds like a great time, I wish I could party with you California gals some time.

Natalie is a hell of a rider, even though it's been a couple of months since I've ridden with her, she's amazingly faster than the first time I met her at DW.

Glad you had a great time Firelilly and Treefinder!  What an awesome weekend!  Started with out of towners coming in to Modesto Saturday night and dinner at the Mexican place down the  street with Karna, Kali, Kevin and NVR FNSH.  Bratt showed up at 11:30 pm and we got her bike unloaded and into the garage.  Everyone up nice and early Sunday morning to hit the road to Deer Creek.

Most everyone caravaned from my house so that we wouldn't get lost. Man-in-charge Justin leads the way.  One stop for gas and one stop at Starbucks and one stop at McDonalds and we got to our destination above Twaine Hart around 9:30 am.  We find Mick and Pierre and Jennifer, as well as Firelilly and Buddy already there.   Buddy has camcorder duties while his broken collarbone still mends.

Of the six gals, three of them have GasGas bikes.  Bratt has her new YZ250F and jennifer and I ride the kTm250rfs.  Everyone wants a look at Mini's Pampera.  She's already been out on the trails before we arrive, rarin' to go :worship: Karna's on her new GasGas200 and let me take it for a spin. Mick's got his new kTm525 and we all take a look at his severe pipe dent he got in the recent desert race he was just in (overalled the B class!).   There are 12 of us going out on the trail today - time to go!

Justin leads us on a fun ride at Deer Creek.  Plenty of single track through the woods, rocky trails and a few obstacles.  I had a blast all day long til the very last rocky downhill, which kicked my butt.  We rode all day long and I have to say this was one of the most fun rides I have been on in a long time.  Thanks to Justin for his superb knowledge of the area and leadership on the trail.

Bratt, a primarily MX kinda gal, did awesome on her venture into the woods.  She and I kept company towards the rear with our official Sweep, NVR FNSH.  Brian, thanks again for all the encouragement and not laughing too hard when I'd soil sample in those odd places, and thanks for yelling at me to "stand up!!" when I needed to be told.

Firelilly was like a little mountain goat on her new Pampera, scaling all the rocks with ease.  Jennifer was fast and awesome on her new kTm250rfs.  We exchanged knowing nods when I congratulated her on her purchase, as we've both become better riders on these bikes.   Karna adapted to her new GasGas rather quickly, amazing me by getting down the rocky stuff whilst standing up and not faltering.  Wow, new bike and all.

Mick was a big help by offering to ride in front of me at my pace through the single track so that I could watch body positioning, standing, weighting of pegs, etc.  That was so helpful!  I really did feel like I was going faster after this excercise.  Maybe not to the people stuck behind me, but...... ;)

All in all, awesome friends to ride with, awesome day on the trail.  Time to head back to my place, as I have others showing up for the BBQ/Pool party I am hosting.  NVR FNSH and Bratt offer to take care of my bike and gear so that I can get going with Karna and Justin, the first truck out of Dodge.  I need to get home and start cooking.  An hour and a half later, I flying around my kitchen getting the Salmon broiling, the Tri-Tip seasoned and the Shrimp Scampi on the stove.  Thanks to all who pitched in to help with the meal, I could not have pulled it together without the help of the salad makers, the veggie choppers, and the pasta drainers!!  You all make a fine group of Prep Cooks. :thumb:

Fremontguy, RetSenior, Treefinder, Karna's Mom and Dad, and little Phillip show up for the BBQ so now the house and patio are full. There's a dozen weary dirtbikers in my pool cooling off, a few folks get thrown in but all in fun.  After the meal, everyone watches Time2Ride and the good parts of On Any Sunday in my living room.  The evening dwindles down to Scintillating conversation topics (my lips are sealed) and ends with sleeping bags and aero beds scattered throughout the house.

Monday morning, those remaining spend the day hanging out by the pool soaking up the rays.  Thanks to everyone for a great weekend.

Thank you Natalie for a wonderful weekend. I now rank the Memorial Weekend Ride up there with Reno. At this rate you guys might actually convert me over to woods riding...HAHAHA! No seriously though I had a flippin blast despite getting tossed into the pool :) Hehehe I totally deserved it!

Another huge Thank You to Brian for his enduring patience each time I crashed. Thanks to Mick for kicking my bike when I got stuck numerous times. Thankfully the transformation into Miss Pissy B**** was averted.

I can't wait for next year! Hopefully this will turn into an annual thing :thumb:

Bratt,
When you show up to a MX race with bark busters on your bike then we'll know we've got you....... Just don't forget to turn back the compression clickers before you bust big air

Nat still has the PB crown. Everybody this weekend at least 'appeared' to be enjoying themselves as they were picking themselves out of the bushes.

To my good friend GETMETOCA to whom I've come to adore, Thanks for the great weekend. Sorry I could not make the ride Sunday or my weekend would of been complete. I'll ride with you any day. Your hospitality is awesome and your gourmet food is just as awesome. And a pool!!! Ride, Eat, Swim and hang out, does it get any better. It's nice that we have a great group of riding friends.

You are awesome and are getting to be too fast...or maybe I am getting too slow? Anyways, I think we should try and do another one of these ride/BBQ's soon? I will help!

Hi Natalie Wish I could have made it, sounds like everyone had great time. Will try and make the next one.

PS: That ReSenior guy sure has it made. After a race or a ride I always end up bringing his bike and riding clothes home with me, I wash his bike (you know he can't get off the couch to do it) my wife washes his clothes and you feed him! Man he's got it made.

Every ride safe.

I concur with all of these great comments about Natalie!

Thanks so much for organizing this weekend. Pierre and I had a blast! Dearcreek was an incredible ride with a big thanks to Justin the leader and Brian the sweeper.

Natalie, the rock descent kicked my butt too!

I would love to do this again. Why don't we try to cook for Natalie the next time? I am worried that our cuisine... hmmm, hmm , hmmm, might not stand up to the test!

You guys are too much!!  I think I had the most fun of all.  When we all get together and ride I am at my happiest, having the best of times.  I will ride with you fine people til the very end.  Well, at least with NVR FNSH since he's always way back there with sweep duty;)

And I think RetSenior says it all here:

I'm already planning the next big bash!:yeehaw:

Natalie, I volunteer for sweeping during next ride so that NVR FNSH can have some fun dicing with quick Mick. I owe him that, he was there sweeping and helping me big time not too long ago... ;) :p
