Looking for a bike for my wife to do some weekend riding with me an my son. I ride a YZ250--2 stroker and my sone rides a KTM 50. I would prefer a 2 stroke bike because they are cheaper to maintain but have been looking at a crf150. Any insight would be helpful....Here are her specks....

1) your physical size--5'7"--115lbs
2) How physical / aggressive are you ?--Good shape--moderate agressiveness
3) what do you plan to ride- MX/SX tracks, woods, fields with friends or ?????--trails & woods riding
4) Do you have any riding experience?--very little when younger had a yz 80
5) Do you think you will race ?--no way :)
6) Are you mechanically inclined and will you be doing your own bike work?--will do all that i can....
7) Do YOU have a preferance to a brand/ motor choice (2 or 4 stroke)?--no preference--prefer 2 strokes cheaper to maintain....
8) Do you have a dealer close by your home that you might use and what brand(s) does he carry?--Yes all brands
9) How much ($) do you plan to spend on a bike?
10) Do you live in California?--Nope
11) Your age?--39
12) anything else that you think would help form an opinion

my g/f is about the same as your wife. but she is 5/2. she rides a kx 80 and likes it. she will be moving up to a 125 here shortly thats lowerd and has a shaved seat. i agree with the above. a 85,100 or maybe even a 125. just depends what SHE is more comfy on!! good luck

She's too tall for an 85 or 100. A 125 2 stroke would be fine. I'm the same weight as your wife only I'm 5'3". She may not like it at first, cut the seat a little and have the suspension set up and she'll be fine on it.

for trail riding i would stay away from the 125 two strokes they have no bottom they suck on some more difficult trails i would go with a 150f

if she has very little experience the 125 will ge a handfull on trails because its such a on and off the clutch bike. i think a 4stroke would be better even though i prefer 2strokes

I agree with Jason. If you get her the 125 two stroke it may be too aggressive for her. I think a 4 stroke would better suit an inexperienced rider better than a 2. The 150f sounds like a good choice.

I disagree...125s are fine to ride in the woods. I have been riding one for years. I have ridden trails, MX, harescrambles and enduros on a 125.

I mostly ride MX, but when I started riding all I rode was woods. Never really had an issue at all.

At 5'7" she's too tall for the 85, 100s, 150s. She'll be very uncomfortable on any of those. I rode a friends RM100 once and felt huge and VERY uncomfortable on it.

She has ridden a little before.
