read the book first, or at least watch "blackhawk down, the real story" on the hist channel. i went to see it with the wife,(good) and a buddy and his girlfriend (bad) last fri night. the movie was pretty accurate, but being a 2 hour movie wasn't able to cover everything that happend. there were so many incredible acts that the only way to get the full effect is to read the book.if you see the movie and think"wow, that was wild' be advised, the book/real sit was ten times worse. the conservitive number of "skinnies" kild was 1,000, up to 10,000...i think the actual number would be closer to 3k to 4k. that amount of enemy killed will give you an idea what the rangers and delta faced....side bar note, this movie will give people an idea on what's going on when the us deploys troops to these little operations, like in afghanistan, alot heavy duty stuff has been going on, but ya only hear about it when our boys take a big hit.
