i am waiting for a set of boysen reeds to come in for my 95 yamaha DT200. just wondering what i can expect from them once installed. also is there a need to rejet?
Probably no difference but theoretically if the reeds allow more air/fuel flow then you have to jet leaner (go to a lower number on the main jet and drop the needle one notch).
jaguar,
i believe if the reeds allow more air in the cranck case (assuming a lot of things) you need to jet richer not leaner...
realest,
from my experience they usually give a little more bottom end and a smoother hit, sometimes with more over rev.
but since your bike is a strange design i will not make any prediction... but will be nice to hear the final and real result
All things held equal, the jetting will need to be leaner, not richer. My boyesen power reeds made a big difference in my bike, 82 RM 125. I jetted leaner and it made a big difference.
