If you are just replacing the ring and not the piston, just ride it easy for a couple of minutes, then you can ride it just like you normally do.

These guys have it. Thermal cycles are the key here. Make sure the cool down is sufficient...meaning: total coldness!
Also one last tiny detail...
If this is a new top end...didnt it come with instructions for break in?
If not I have found Dumonde Tech storage/break in oil has good directions as well as good products!
