Anyone going to the Bucky Badger next weekend? Is it still happening?
I am overseas right now but will be back on Friday and plan on going.Couls someone please check and confirm the date??
Thanks
It is on the last I heard. It will a 20mile loop run twice with the A / AA riders running another 10miles. Sounds like it will be the last year for this enduro. I hope not but they have lost alot of land.
Well, from what I heard they have been saying it's the last one for years. Hopefully they can keep it. It was fun last year and I look forward to it again on Sunday.
Well, it wasn't as FlyinRyan said, "a 20mile loop run twice with the A / AA riders running another 10miles". It was basicly last years enduro with two loops for everyone.
Three of us, all super senior riders, went out on minute #3 so needless to say there wasn't much trail to follow but we had a blast. The only hard thing was a rocky up hill just at the end of each loop.
Some of the guys must have gone the wrong way through a swamp on the first lap because when I came around the second time I could see where bikes had been buried in it. The thing was, the actual trail went to the left around the swampy ditch and you didn't even get your wheels wet. :) They should have looked before charging in.
Sorry I can't tell who did what because as soon as we finished both loops we loaded up and headed for home.
I hope they do run this event next year even if it were slightly shortend. It was a great ride.
Layton, glad to here it was fun. I guess the club member I talked to didn't know anything.
White City was 100 actual ground miles. Long day, not many resets so we were on the gas all day. Good trail, needed more arrows as always and more danger arrows, had a fourth gear getoff in a corn field.
Got 3rd OA. Fredette won, Andrew Stockly (From IN) was 2nd, Me 3rd, Larry Burgquist 4th and Rob Mcgee 5th. Not many guys there. Alot of people quit. Scott Hofmann ripped a hole in his pipe and quit, Wes Donaldson quit for some reason and most other guys were just to tired after about 60 miles. Only had 2 B class riders finish, most houred out at the check before the club grounds. See what fun you missed.
As far as I know, this was the last Bucky Badger. Duane Eller got the Overall with a score of 6. Travis Schultz was 2nd overall with an 8 (I think). I got 2nd in 200A on a borrowed KX 125 (which I bought today...and no I didn't blow it up!) after getting lost on the first loop. Sorry I don't have more of a class break down. I hope everyone who came and rode had a great time. We couldn't have asked for better weather (well I think snow like a few ago would have been fun....but I'm sick). By the way Ryan, have any details on the Morrison Enduro? Ground miles? Lights as usual? Just wondering if I have to try and get a big tank before the 4th.
Good ride! We just have to hope that it wasn't really the last enduro. It's just to good of an event to give up on.
I think I know just where you got lost. You were in a woods section coming back in near the finish and ended up on a trail that was going out at the begining. About four of us also made that mistake but since we had no trail to follow we knew we were wrong the second we got over on the wrong trail. (All the leaves were off the trail.) I noticed that when I came around for the second loop they had added tons of arrows in that area trying to stop that mistake from happening again. Those trails only ran about a hundred yards apart.
Brian
We are supposed to mile the Morrison trail this weekend.
It is the trail that is run on the North side of route 30, more woods trail than at the last couple of fall enduros.
Right now the estimate is about 65 miles but I'll know more after this weekend.
Headlight required at start license plate a good idea.
We had a visit from the Illinois state police a couple of races ago.
You are exactly right Layton. I missed the turn and picked up the arrows from the first part of the loop. It cost me about 10 min. I zeroed the rest of the checks except the last one where I dropped a 5 (missed a 4 by 5 seconds). Still a little rusty from taking 2 years off.
Thanks for the info Al. I've ridded Morrison a bunch of times in the past, so I know the drill with the lights, etc.... Just wondering about the mileage and if I can make it on the stock tank. Any info on actual mileage and gas available would be great!!
