in my local gravel pit where i ride there are some burms and iv seen the pros with their bikes total flat to the ground and foot out and whiping throught the berms and i was wondering what the technique is for this. on another note how do u build berm should it be a u shaped or more of a sweeping turn ? which would be better for praticeing on

You'll see both shapes at any given MX track. The technique of sticking the leg out acts as kind of a ballist weight to maintain balance. While doing this you also want to apply some of your weight to the outside peg. In turn it alows you to lean the bike further over without falling over.
