hey guys, first, let me lay out the situation. we are trying to sell me KX125. there is someone is very interested and might buy it this week. i make at least $100 a week washing cars, cutting grass, etc. we plan on selling my 125 for $1500-$1800. there is a brand new 2006 KX250F for $5488( not including tax, installation, etc.) at Hager Cycle World in Rock Hill,SC( about 30-45min. away). anyways, tell me if im wrong( or right), the 07's should come out in august or september. the 07' KX250F's MSRP is $5999( $100 more than the 06', no big deal). we planned on buying the 06' KX250F at Hager in about 2-3 weeks( or whenever my bike sells). lets say we sell my bike for $1500, i currently have $500( im almost 14 y/o), and my dad would bring me up to $3000, thatd be our down payment and i would finance the rest over 2-3 years( this was our plan, till i looked at the thread about the 07' KXF's) should we go ahead with this plan or wait for the 07's and get one of those. if we dont sell my bike, i can easily make $1500 in 3 mon. and KEEP my KX125. i know im throwing alot of info. at you guys, but thats our plan/s.

Try to include the following info in your first post
1) your physical size (both height and weight are important) 5'5'' 110lbs.
2) How physical / aggressive are you ? im pretty aggresive
3) what do you plan to ride- MX/SX tracks, woods, fields with friends or ????? MAYBE some trails, but mostly the tracks at TNT
4) Do you have any riding experience? about 1 1/2 years, but im a very good rider for only riding that amount of time
5) Do you think you will race ? probably in at least 8-10mon.
6) Are you mechanically inclined and will you be doing your own bike work? me and my dad will do the maintenence, if we cant do it, well just have Matthews Fun Machines do it.
7) Do YOU have a preferance to a brand/ motor choice (2 or 4 stroke)? yes, kawasaki and a 250f
8) Do you have a dealer close by your home that you might use and what brand(s) does he carry? kawasaki/yamaha honda/suzuki, no KTM
9) How much do you plan to spend on a bike? as much as it takes
10) anything else that you think would help form an opinion
let me say this:
i know im small and very light to be on beast's like these, but this will also be my dad's bike( im not going to put his "dimensions" as you might call it, hes plenty big and experienced enough). im also totally stuck on buying either an 06' or 07' ( brand new) KX250F. dont throw all that YZ250F crap at me, believe me, that task may not end well for you. thanx

If you have a chance to unload a 125 at a decent price I would do it. You may not be so lucky the next time around. They are VERY hard to sell right now.

They are my son's. He loved the 04 we had, then he loved the 05, and now he loves the 06. Each year has been better than the one before.

Not sure about where you are and what the market is like, but you can't give a 125 away here in the Midwest. Dealers still have brand new 04's they are trying to get rid of.

$100 diff in the price of an 06 and 07, Id wait on the 07 dude. And if I had $1500 to play with Id take that 125 off your hands, I still like the 2 strokes and already have a KX125 + a KX250 but I plan on getting a Kaw 250f also, those 4 strokes are much more forgiving than a 2 stroker. The 4 strokes get it done with torque and never should be over revved unless you want to do valve adjustments every time you turn around. Arm pump is also less aggravating riding a 4 stroke vrs 2 strokes. I'm keeping my dinosaurs, one day I'll put em up for safe keeping cause they are going to be obsolete one day.
