I have two young cousins who have just graduated to 125's one on a 93 RM & one on a 91 YZ. Shortly after buying the RM it loses power and we tear it down to find that the top of the piston looked as if metal fragments had gotten in between it and the head. We can't find any broken parts or unaccounted for parts. He has it bored w/ new piston & rings, drains and flushes block & coolant. Within three hours or so of riding it happens again. Now the YZ has been running fine this whole time when it just recently loses power and guess what...the same problem we had with the RM happens with the YZ. For the life of me we can't fiqure out where the parts are coming from and why it has happened. Any and all help is welcome and appreciated.

Keeping the filters clean won't allow debris to enter the combustion.

This often happens when a bearing is breaking up-time to strip down the bottom end im afraid.
