Can I add fork oil to bump up compression damping?

I have a 1993 RM-250. I just had the seals and bushings replaced, as well as stiffer springs. I have the compression dampers turned all the way in, but I bottom on medium jumps.

Can I add a few cc's of oil through the pressure relief screw holes as a quick fix? Would a thicker oil help?

I don't want to revalve just yet. Just looking for a quick fix. I just need a little more dampening.

Thanks, Steve.

10mm is about 10cc. You have to know yr start situation/oil height.
Also close yr clickers all the way, to see if that is working(comp clickers i mean), before you add oil.
Get a feel how the reaction is with fully closed and fully open clickers. Maybe you have a damping problem more than a spring problem.(the oil height is considered spring related) By closing the clickers the shimstack does more of the work with lower shaftspeeds.

My manual states that the springs should be removed and the forks compressed when measuring the oil height.

Do the forks need to be bled, if so, how do I accomplish this?

The manual tells me to use Suzuki SS-05 fork oil. Am I correct in assuming the Suzuki SS-05 is a 5 weight oil?

Thanks, Steve.
