Can I weld repair an FMF Fatty?

The FMF fatty on my KX500 completely cracked in half right where it passes underneath the gas tank. :yikes:

Any chance I can get a local shop to weld it back for me? What kind of welder do you need to weld an FMF pipe back together?

should be able to tig weld the pipe,i have fixed a couple of my own that have cracked welds.

I welded the pipe using my 110v wire feed welder. Worked great! Didn't damage the pipe at all!

wire feed flux cored, mig, tig all work well for welding pipes, tig's cleanest but all will work :cool:
