You usually get what you pay for. OEM is the best, in my opinion. Clymer is probably the cheapest.

do you mean cheap as in price or quality? i have clymer manual and i liek them alot. that are extremely descriptive and have pictures of everything. and explain it in detail.

Im getting the one that wake rider found on ebay. They say its for a 99 yz250 but the engine code is yz250L1 for the 99 and The manual on the auction is 250m1 which is for the 2000.so Im going to bid on it.

I have a 2000 YZ125 and I use Belray Gear Saver. For 2 stroke oil I use Opti-2 but I am switching to Amsoil Interceptor because I get a real good price on it. I mix at 32:1 and My bike calles for a BR9EG but I use a BR8ES plug. The ES plugs are cheaper than the EG and i have fouled less plugs with the ES'. Hope this infor helps

I run the br8eg's just because that's what my manual calls for. We have the same engine, so I'd just stick with what the manual calls for. As for crankcase oil I run either 80 wt motorcycle transmission oil, yamalube 4t, or I'll just run any fully synthetic 10w30 to get me by in a pinch. I prefer the 80wt motorcycle transmission oil because I feel like I get better clutch feel and performance, but any will do.

well right now im using rotella t fully synthetic 5w40.I had it left over from my 99 yz400f(someone recomended the rotella).so your manual is the YZ250L1?

Yeah. My manual is for the yz250L1 but it is the same engine from 99 to current, so it will use the same spark plug. Really the only major changes from year to year making the last manual obsolete is the changes in the frame and suspension...

NGK shows a BR8EG (stock #3130). Get them at Oreilly Auto, should be around $3.50 ea (4 to a box if want a box). I used to work there, around $2 ea employee cost.
