can't split the crankcase on 04cr250

Hi, I tried to help a friend out but finally couldn't be of much help. He has blown up the transmission on his 04cr250 and I tried to split the cases for him. I have a motion pro case splitter that works like a charm usually, well for this engine I almost wrecked my case splitter tool. How can this be... Is there a trick to splitting this motor apart??

I tried from the mag side and it won't budge. Should I try from the right side instead?

Did you heat the cases? It makes it much easier to heat the cases and doesn't wear out the bearing bosses. Also make sure all of the screws are out, especially the one's under the timing plate.
