Carb leaking gas

01 honda cr250 with 38mm Mikuni TMX carb and its leaking gas..at the Honda parts deparment said it was the float needle and i change it, but it still leaks gas .........any suggestions

is the drain on the bowl leaking? where is it coming from? the overflow tubes?

38mm Mikuni TMX 01 cr250 leaking gas

i cleaned the carb and changed the float needle that the salesman(not mechanic)said was the problem...but its still leaking from the over flow tube and now i've wasted about $30 for the needle float that wasnt the problem.......can anyone help me out? thanx

try adjusting the little tab that holds the pin into the carb body, pull it down a little, not much but just a fuzz

Put the float in a bowl of gas and see of it floats. If it doesn't get a new float.

It should float about half of it's mass above the surface. If it's brass shake it and listen for fuel inside. If it's the black plastic type they get heavier with age.
