The bike is a 86/87? not exactly 100%sure. Has 5 wired from CDI

1. White/Red
2. White/green
3. Black/red
4. black/yellow
5. green/white

I beleive that the connect as follows
1. mag
2. mag
3. mag
4. earth
5. coil

Please tell me if this is correct and if not can someone please correct me on the wiring

That's what I have for my '86. One of my componets must be bad 'cause I get no spark! I'll get a chance later tonight to test the CDI & coil. I also picked up some new plugs. Thanks mate!

I just got an '83 that has no spark. The CDI and the coil are OK because they worked when I put them on my "81 KDX175. It looks like I'm not making electricity at the flywheel. I need to get the flywheel off to check the magnets. You might want to do the same. The Clymer manual (I got one from the library) for the KDX has coil specs if you have an ohmeter. Let me know how you make out.

Thanks for the reply. I seem to be geting output from the stator. Im a bit sus on the cdi? i have 10ohms across the white wires and 360ohms across the black wires.

Could you please measure yours and let me know what u got?
