I have a 02 KX 250 and I want to get an o-ring chain for it, but I have no idea what to even get. I think it uses a "520 chain" or something. What does the 520 mean?

Do all the motocross bikes use the same size chain? and how is it measured? in links? are all chains the same size, just different amount of links?

I want an o-ring chain but I know thats definitely not stock. So how do I figure out what one to get?

put the bike up on the stand. find the connector link. count the pins on the chain, starting with the connector link. you should end up with around 116, not sure exactly on that bike. Count twice, if get get the same number than it should be right.

As far as which chain to get, I always like RK, good chain for the money, don't worry about X or O ring, anything with rubber rings will work for your purposes. Don't buy a no-name or budget chain.

Get ready for you chain maintenance to pretty much go away, other than keeping the rust away with some WD40 etc. You're gonna love that oring chain.
