I just purchased new Renthal R1works chain , 52 tooth rear sprocket, 13 tooth front sprocket.
Original equipment has 51 tooth rear, 13 tooth front. The book
says use same chain length (114 links) when only changing up (1) tooth in rear sprocket. Chain came long. I cut chain to same amount of links as original. Tried to put everything back together, but chain is too short/tight. Chain tensionors are completely in. Do I look for thinner lock nuts on chain tensionors? Or do I use (2) master links(sounds bogus). Or
can I add extra link. If I add extra link, do I have to peen them on?
Not sure what to do........

My brother years ago had this problem. He added anouther master link halfway through the chain, I am not sure running them togeather would be wise.
Peening the extra links would be easy since you would have the ability to have the chain off the bike, either way should work for you.

You can add an extra master link and peice of chain. But its kinda hokey. You better off getting a half link and putting it in. Hopefully it will give it enough length.
