I just picked up a 02 yz250 and I have a fork that is leaking some oil. It will be getting fixed in a few weeks, I'm knew to bikes so if some one could tell me if theres a way to check the oil level in the forks I'd appreciate it.

You'll need to remove the forks from the bike.
Remove cap.
Remove sprring.
Collapse fork.
Measure down from top of fork to oil. Manual will give you recommended height or you could meaure the level in the non leaking fork to get an idea where it should be until you get it fixed.
A problem you're going to have if you bought the bike used is, you don't know what type or weight oil is in it now.
