2000 RM125. With the clutch plates removed and the trans in gear. I can turn the clutch basket until it stop and turn it back 1/4 (90degree's) of a turn back before it meets resistance. This seems like alot of freeplay to me. I can find no simple test or measurement in the book. If this is not explained correctly let me know and I will try it again
I might be wrong on this but isnt the basket driven off the crankshaft primary gear? So if the plates are out then arnt you just turning the motor over onto compression. I think the clutch hub is connected to the gearbox.
Steve is correct. Since the gear on the basket is so large and the gear on the crank is small, the basket doesnt need to turn too much before the motor compresses.
