I was wondering how to tell if your clutch plates are worn. When i bought my bike, my clutch would grad no matter how far i pulled the clutch in. Could this be bad clutch plates or is it just set up for racing? My bike sometimes likes to slip out of gear and is a pain to get into neutral when running. Any idea?

Measure the plates and deglaze with medium sandpaper. Also check for flatness with a feeler gauge. That's the only way to tell if they need replacing for sure.

Check the cable is not stuffed as it might be compressing like a spring limiting the amount the clutch works. Also check levers aren’t ovalised on mounts.

Check the clutch hub’s fingers aren’t badly ridged. This may be taken out a bit with careful filing.

If it is jumping out of gear 2nd gear I’m guessing huh? Then sorry the affected gear pair has been damaged & requires replacing but may be saved with a minor undercut if not too bad. There are implications of this mod so requires an experienced eye.

Check for warped plates and/or indented splines on the clutch hub, like the previous guys mentioned.
Popping out of gear?( bent shifter fork and rounded dogs?) Well between that and the dodgy clutch, I'd say the guy who had it before you didn't use the clutch much and probably had the thing WFO when doing his "powershifts"
Do you think he changed the tranny oil?
Do you think he he knew it took tranny oil?:ugg:
