Clutch plates

anyone ever heard of inserting another clutch plate (metal one) into their bike? If so ho long does it last? etc...etc any thoughts would be helpful

You can do this but I would only suggest it for minimal use . Normaly only 1 extra plate will fit after the clutch is pretty much toast .

Why not just add a washer or two on each spring/bolt?

Edit to say: That way you don't toast the basket in the process.

No, fixing it right is "the" fix.

This is merely a band-aid.

right but the stack height of the new kit was about 3 mm shorter than what i took out of the bike!!
I sent the first kit back due to the same problem

i shouldn't affect the basket in any way it merely spaces the stack

I guess what i am looking for is someone who has run this setup to share their experience

We've run it for one race to get us through the day until we could properly repair the clutch before the next ride. It is a very temporary fix at best, your clutch was slipping for a reason.

UPDATE!!! two two hour races and the clutch is running just fine
