Hi all,

I'm trying to diagnose a problem that I'm having with a recently purchased '96 KX125.

The clutch doesn't seem to work properly. I have lubed the cable, adjusted it so there is only a little slack at the lever, but when the bike is started and you put it in gear (with the clutch in) the bike just stalls. If you do manage to get going and try to stop by pulling in the clutch, the bike eventually stalls when you completely stop.

I removed the clutch cover and looked at the clutch basket and there are no grooves worn in the basket, so that looks OK.

I don't know what to replace: cable, plates, springs? What is my next move?

Thanks for any advice,
Ed Lennon

Check the inner hub for grooves as well. Also, like 96er advised check for warpred plates. Pull em out and put em' on something flat like glass and try to slide a feeler guage under. Your manual or Atlantic will have the specs. Good Luck
