Clutch Problem

I have a 2006 CRF250r. Pretty recently my clutch has had a strange problem...it only works when the bikes on. I can watch it completely pulling the cable at the engine but it never does anything unless the engine is on. This really isnt a huge problem because i just put it in neutral everytime I start it (always have) so its fine...just seems strange. I have never been hard on my clutch...smooth shifts...adjusted freeplay so I am not sure what is wrong. Any ideas?

That's normal. Mine has never been easy to push in gear/engine off/clutch in since it was new. I've also spanked the crap of my clutch for almost 70 hours and it still works great. As long as it keeps working like it does I'll wait till this winter to tear it down and inspect it all. I would guess the change you noticed would be due to some basket/hub notching, just go get a Hinson setup and I bet it will work sweet agian. :laugh:
