My 93 RMX 250 will not roll freely with it in gear, Clutch lever pulled in and engine not running.
I just put a new clutch in it thinking it would solve the problem(if it is a problem) Because when my bike isnt running and it is in gear and i pull in the clutch lever it doesnt roll freely, It will only roll freely when i put it in neutral.
I am curious because sometime i might have to push start it. Is it supposed to roll freely when it is not running,In gear, and clutch lever pulled in?
Anyone have any suggestions?

With any M/C I've ever owned there is a certain amount of drag in that circumstance. If you have to bump start the bike, get it going in neutral, jump on and snick it into second or third, release clutch all at once.

Thanks i just wanted to make sure i wasnt having any trans problems, My older RM 125 and my little Yamaha would always roll freely when in gear with clutch lever pulled in/engine not running.
So i was kind of worried when this RMX wouldnt.

All the Huskies I've owned feel like you are dragging the brakes in that situation! And you can totally forget kick-starting them in gear with clutch pulled in.

I can kick start it fine when it's in gear, I did it on accident once when i thought it was in neutral, i pulled in the clutch and kicked it, started just fine didnt try to go anywhere so i am asssuming the clutch is working correctly, just doesnt want to roll like explained above.

Mine doesn't roll in gear. This happened when i dropped it once. It doesn't really matter. Just roll it down a hill in neutral and dont hold the clutch it. Just kick it up into 2nd gear while you bump on the back. It will start no problem but make shore you do this in 2nd gear or further. Don't do it in 1st.
