clutch question

I know this is probably a dumb question but is it necessary to use the clutch when shifting through gears. I always figured it wasn't with centrifugal clutches but I don't want to wreck my transmission by not doing it.
BTW, my bike is a 91 cr 125 and I'm new to dirtbikes.

Um, I doubt your bike has a centrifugal clutch. It probably has a clutch basket, clutch plates, and a pressure plate. You dont have to use the clutch when upshifting, but you do have to let off the gas a little when you do that. Then you are supposed to use the clutch when downshifting.
