It doesn't seem that there has been much posting here lately! So I'll start....

Got my new pipe and silencer for my kdx. A riding friend put it on for me this week since my husband is in Iraq and can't. I'm so excited because it means I get to go to the desert this weekend! The awesome thing is that we just have some rain so the sand will be fun to ride!

Also, my son is grateful that I won't be "stealing" his bike to ride anymore! Well, actually, I will when we go to the track :)

So, what's going on w/ you ladies???

I'm over here in Ohio and it's chilly!

Right now: Wishing I lived in Cali.

It's hard to find time to ride while dealing with college and work.
Can't wait til spring though. I might be able to go riding this friday! :-)
either that or clean air filters while the boyfriend does suspension mods :-|

It's snowing here, so there's no riding in the near future for me :(

Rooster bought me a new FMF pipe for my TTR for Christmas, we got that put on a couple weeks ago. I can't wait to ride it! Supposedly it's going to help me hear the bike so I won't stall out as often! :)

I'll post a ride report as soon as I get to ride .

Well let's see at the moment I am on restrictions. I pulled a back muscle back in Jan. and I guess when I did that my old head injury flared...somehow...So no snowboardding, we haven't really had a whole lot of snow this winter..and when there is snow it's Phil's weekend to work. I can't ride the bike..so no indoor racing or riding. I started physical therapy and in 3 weeks we'll find out if I'm healed...ugh. We have been training hard for the upcoming outdoor season. Been hitting the gym 6 times a week. I'm on weight restictions so I do what I can to stay in shape. So...nothing exciting here either.

Well, Hi Petra!

It HAS been pretty slow in this forum--I'm not one for posting much, although I like to "lurk" from time to time.

Congrats on the new pipe! I know that you have been wanting one since we first met (over a year ago!). I've been thinking about you and wondering how you are doing with Mark away on his "big adventure". Sounds like things are going well!

As for me, I've been trying to cram six months of lost riding (broken foot) into two months. I've been trying to ride one or two times a week since my first ride back with Natalie last month. I'm going to be riding in my first enduro next weekend--the Wild Piglet family enduro at Clear Creek. And Ben and I are getting ready for our long ride in Baja at the end of this month; I just ordered Dog Packs to carry all my stuff on the bike.

We are looking forward to seeing you and your kids in April. We'll get some good riding in then! I can't believe it's already March!

Have fun this weekend in the desert! It's good to hear from you! I'll call you to get more details!
Kathy

CaNaDiAn,Eh?

Just got a foot of snow + Bike 3.5 hours away from me = no riding for me :ahhh:

On the plus side I have a shot at a summer job in a Honda dealership as a parts person, so if I got that I would be pretty psyched. Other than that I'm going to be buried under textbooks until May and finals are over....then I can finally breathe again :)

Hey Petra! Good on ya to post up!

I've had lots of visitors in the past couple of weeks - Kav came to see me and brought me an espresso maker that his roomate left behind (COOL!) and Gina (bratt) came back from Australia and came and spent the night at my house before she headed off the Colorado for a couple months of sheep shearing madness. It was GREAT to see her and catch up!

Right now, I am still on my Atlanta / Brimingham vacation. I went to the ATL Supercross with GoSpeedRacer and Julius Pleaser and then on the drive over to Birmingham we stopped at the Barber Motersports racetrack where we hooked up with DRN member Lemming. I did not know this until now, but Lemming is a road racing instructor at this track and I was lucky enough to get a ride in his Porche race car - OH MY!! :yikes: I was strapped into the car and had a helmet on (a'la NASCAR) and went for the ride of my life!! He said he was filming the track from inside the car, so if it turns out, I will post it.

Yesterday I toured the CocaCola Headquarters in downtown ATL and visited the Aquarium with my old boss - had lunch at a nice seafood place.

I hired a General Contractor to do some home repairs and he starts next week, I am looking forward to getting some stuff done as I am contemplating moving. I don't know where yet (Rocky Roads and I have had many conversations about it though!!) so I thought it would be best to get the house in order.

I am looking forward to more riding and I've ridden about 4 times since the first of the year.

After meeting more ladies at the recent South Bay Riders club ride at Hollister RR and I are thinking of pulling together another Chick's Ride in the near future. :aj:

I have to go back to work next week :(

Ohio Lady Angelica!

Where are you from in Ohio. I am originally from Dayton and did not know that there are lots of people in the state that ride? Where are the good riding places?

I currently live in CA and am enjoying riding all year long.

Please tell!
Jennifer

PS. Natalie, I would be up for a chicks ride!

Today I had to drag myself back to work after a week-long road trip. Went to Laughlin, Nevada for the Laughlin U.S. Hare Scrambles, which is part of the Best In The Desert series. It was awesome! Racing in the desert was a nice break from riding in the constant rain and mud of winter in the Pacific Northwest. Since I was driving that far, I opted to ride the Ironman class rather than do the traditional team event. That meant 80 miles of rocks, cactus, sand washes and dust. Yahoo! It was not quite the tight & technical event that the flier and my SoCal buddy promised, but still a good time. I just wish that I'd know how fast paced it really was so that I could have set-up my suspension properly. Being a serious woods rat, my perspective of tight & technical is a little bit goofy I guess. Anyhow, had a good time and finished 22nd out of 33 Ironman entries; not outstanding, I'm still smiling. Larry Roeseler was the top Ironman, kinda hard to compete with him in my class! The next day on the drive home we hit Jawbone Canyon near Mojave, CA for a little more riding. Huge fun was had there, too. There's some cool single-track, long, fast sandwashes, lots of hillclimbs and steep, narrow ridges to ride. Now I'm trying to talk my husband into going back down there to camp & ride for 3 or 4 days in November. Always looking for the next adventure.....

I don't think you can blame your perspective being goofy on the woods zero_it! :nener:

Let's see, we've done some good snowmobiling, a little bit of winter maintenance on the bikes with some left to do in between kids basketball & volleyball practice & games. Hooked up at 7 Mile for a ride with the PANTRA crew but that was about it for dirtbiking this winter. Just got a good 3 - 4 inches of snow last night at the house so we'll be sledding Sunday at home I'm sure cause that means the mountain got hit pretty good.

I've been lifting weights to get ready for the riding season and playing some volleyball when my daughter practices, playing some basketball at lunch with the boys at the office. We've managed to keep all of our guys healthy playing at lunch but have destroyed the ankles of 3 outsiders that usually play with us. 2 of em bad sprains & the third one had a bit a bone pop out with his tendon. Needless to say, I try to stay out of the mosh pit because even a petite & dainty flower is no match for a 6'3" 270 + lber - something to be said about knowing when to run away!

Mostly working and working and working. Couple more good bids and I'll be cruising for the summer (or working my butt off explaining how we got low  ).

Picked up an 04YZ125 for my son so I'm just waiting for the snow to melt so I can take it out for a spin. The boy is just waiting for the next grade reports so he can do more than look at it. I think he'll have his grades back up where they are supposed to be. :ride:

Keep waiting for the snow to melt to get the streetbike out. One of the guys at work has ridden his streetbike in twice so far and I have to laugh each time and ask if he saw the weather report. Needless to say, each time, he's taken it back home just in time to get rained/snowed on 2 blocks from his house when he went to take the bike home & get his truck. He checks the weather now! :)

Jennifer:
sorry for the late response! i forgot to check the forum for a while.

I am actually from Dayton as well! I live in Englewood right now though. The only places i've ridden are my boyfriend's track, his buddy's track in covington, another one in huber heights.... oh and Dayton Dirt Riders.
Also take trips to West Virginia twice a year to ride all weekend and it is awesome.

I envy you for being in Cali and being able to ride all year, among other things.

;)

The boyfriend is 13th in the National Enduro Series (from the 2005 results), so he is in Georgia right now gettin ready to race. He gets to go to all the nice weather places!!! :fft:

But anyway, good to hear from a native Ohioan lady rider. How's ridin and all that goin for you?
If you know of any good places around Dayton to ride, lemme know!!
Take care-
Angelica

Is that common, I mean to stall the TTR like that? I just got my wife one and she's bad to stall a lot. I'll take a pic of her and her bike and post it in a day or two to introduce her to the fine ladies of DRN.
