Colorado Springs riding

There is a local track called Aztec.  Check it out http://www.aztecraceway.com

About 30 miles or so south in Pueblo is a free motorsports park.  Don't expect too much other than dust.  Check it out http://pmi.srac.org

On the trail riding side, there are loads of them in the mountains.   One of the more crowded, er popular is Rampart Range up near Sedalia.  Here it is http://www.rampartrange.org.  It is the closest we have to east coast singletrack.

As far as conditions go, you will find it completely different that the east coast.  (could you bring some east coast single track with you?????).  Picture hardpack (harder than any pavement you know) covered with plenty of sand/dirt.  Then throw in some rocks for good measure.

On the bright side, it is almost always sunny and humidity free. 

We just recently returned to Colorado from Iowa( Read: tight harescrambles) My friend was just out to ride. We by passed Rampart Range for Woodland Park, not nearly as whooped out, and on a Wednesday, only saw two quads. (We were on bikes) For Friday and Saturday, we went to the Grizzly-Helena trail in North Park near Walden, actually just over 3 hours driving. Not tight and twisty like midwest or east coast, but very technical and yes, rocky. But loads of fun! Want to try Taylor Park sometime, and definitely planning a trip to Steamboat Lake/Hahn's Peak next year with some of my midwest friends. I grew up in Steamboat.
