Compressing a video file

I'm trying to compress a video file from a dvd I made from my video camera. The file is about 125 mb and I need to compress it so I can email it. What do I need to do to accomplish this? I have Nero and DVD Shrink, will these do the trick and if so, how? Thanks

Jay, bite me. It's just a video I made from my Hard Drive camcorder and I burnt it on a dvd. I tried the DVD shrink and I can't seem to figure out how to compress it though. I want to make about a 2 minute video into a file that I can email, maybe around a few meg? I'll try the above links, thanks.

elk if those links don't clarify, I will try to post something in the next couple days if I can.

Do you know the max file size your email carrier will let you send through its portal? That will be important to know if you are limited in any way that way.

There are other alternatives, as well for file sharing without emailing if you can't master the shrinkit.

I think I max out at 10 mb. I'm reading the link as I write so I'll see if that helps, thanks.

see if you can get a copy of windows movie maker, it should easily compress that to 10mb or less.

Elk, did you figure it out using one of the above?
If not, could you tell us what type of media file you turned it into after you got it off your camera?
