M Moparman1539 Member Sep 9, 2006 804 0 Jun 11, 2007 #2 Well... you dont NEED a clutch basket.. All you need (if its just slipping) is Clutch disks, and sometimes the pressure plates and springs... You dont need the clutch basket if it isn't in bad shape. (i spend $30 for clutch plates, and springs. My friend pays $50.00 for clutch plates, and springs, and it works great afterwords.)

The pressure plate and center hub were usable but beyond service specs. I'm just shocked at the high cost considering how puny a cr80 is. I can get a complete clutch including a remanufacture flywheel for my car for $150.
