hey eric yea i actually found and won a decent online aution for a cylinder , i recieved it yesterday. it has been ported and the job looks excellent. the cylinder is in almost perfect condition. but i have a few questions , will the porting have any changes to my mixture setting or idle? what do you think of a reed spacer? where can i get the dowels for the two cylinder mount studs? any tricks to removing and reinstalling the exhaust valve system from one cylinder to another.
i have also been told by a pro that if i'm not racing and rebuilding my top end every week that a stock piston is stronger and the way to go? well i know this is a lot to ask but take your time I high apprieciate your smarts! thanks man ..

I had a 91cr125 and I found one of the weak link on this bike was the stock pipe. Your porting will most likely affect the carburetor jetting; in what direction, no one can guess. It depends also on the type of powerband that the cylinder was modded for. Honda pistons are known to be on the loose side. Some even have rattle when the piston is brand new. This is why most here uses Wiseco.

the cylinder I have is from a 92' , will that lead me to use a 92 piston kit or stick with the 91' piston kit? cause they are different p/n's

The deciding factor will be which head you are using. The head of the 91 was meant for a domed piston, while the 92 was made to accomodate the flat top piston that was introduced that year. I would take a good look at your old piston and see if it is flat top or not.
