i have a clarke oversized gas tank(3 gal. i think) on my 99 cr250. it seems like im filling this sucker every 3rd time i go riding. I dont ride hard at all, im not constantly on the power band, and i only ride on hills and trails for about 1-2 hours each time. Is it normal to use this much gas? i thought a 3 gal tank would last for ever.. but it sure goes fast. Could it be a jetting issue? or is it just normal? Thanks!

If you are getting 3 to 6 hours out of a tank, I would say you are doing very well for a 250cc two stroke.

FWIW, I had a '99 CR250 with a Clarke tank and it got very good range for a 250 two stroke. It would go 70 miles on the trail. The '99 has mild porting and will go much further per gallon than most other MX 250's. For example, an '01 CR250 has more aggressive porting and is much more of a gas hog than your '99.
