I recently acquired a 1991 CR250R or so I thought. I appears that the frame is indeed a 91 model, but the engine is older. The engine serial number is ME03E 2801088 and judging by the right side cover and the power valve arrangement seems to be a 1986 model. Does this sound correct based on the serial number?
My real problem is that the lower connecting rod bearing went out and destroyed the cylinder and piston. I don't want to fix the current engine if it is indeed older than the bike. So what I would really like to know is if any of the newer motors will bolt up to my frame?
