the bike runs good, except it's idling high. there are no air leaks behing the carb, or on the base of the jug.

I have a theory that since it was about 25 degrees colder out last night than it was the last time he rode it, the more dense air is causing the bike to run leaner, and I know it would idle higher if it was leaner.

could old gas have anything to do with it? the gas is over three months old, and the first thing the manual says to do is to replace the gas.

we also cleaned the carb and jets.

does anyone know where the idle screw is on the klein carb that came with the bike?

I read that the idle screw on some of those older bike is the choke knob. You twist it to adjust the idle I believe.
Old gas is unpredictable and will be hard to get your bike adjusted with it. Run it out or dump it out before trying to make adjustments to the carb.
