I have one of the GSS (glen howell) race port CR500 engines and I can tell you 100% it aint no 85hp, its definatly livelier than stock and revs out way better, it does love to drink C12 tho.
I added a wet nitrous kit that really woke this motor up, Ive run shots between 17hp and 50hp so far the best running one was the 35 shot. The 50 can ping horrificly if the bottle pressure is to high and honestly its a PITA to get dialed in.
I dont believe for one second that a CR500 motor can kick out 170hp even on 100% nitro, the cases/crank/gearbox and clutch simply wouldnt take it. With mine running a 30shot Ive killed 3 clutches and 2 transmissions, after the last time out I think Ive finally killed the crank.....
