CRF 450 03 rattle?

ive heard a lot of crf's at our tracks with a death rattle, but it seems differnet to the one you describe. often, it sounds like something clanking around in the bottom end, rather like pennies in the washing machine. the people that have been riding them, didnt look that bothered, but i would have been!

I have this problem with mine, the bike works great but i don't like this sound, is this a common problem or what? Any one how knows what is causing this rattle?

My KX250 does this, but it is the foot pegs that are vibrating.
Snug your calves against your pegs, rev engine, and see if that is the problem.

Check your cam chain tensioner..

The pre 04 tensioners were poorly designed, replace yours with one from an 04-08 model.
